Austin sign Corozo from Sporting Cristal - Loan "an opportunity to improve the squad"

Major League Soccer side Austin FC have signed Washington Corozo on a six-month loan from Peruvian club Sporting Cristal. The MLS club will have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the loan agreement. The 23-year-old arrives after an impressive campaign with Liga MX side Pumas where he was on loan throughout 2021/22 and reached the Concacaf Champions League final. 

“We’re delighted to welcome Washington to Austin,” Austin FC sporting director Claudio Reyna said in a club statement. “We look at every transfer window as an opportunity to improve the squad and feel that Washington’s dynamic skill set and speed in wide areas will do just that.” The one-time Ecuadorian national team winger managed eight goals and one assist in 44 games for Pumas last season.
